Day 17 Our last fun in the Sun
We have really enjoyed our time here in Panama City Beach! This resort is wonderful and just right for us.
Today we headed right out to the beach after breakfast and swam in the clear blue/green water and enjoyed the white sands. Samuel saw a turtle about 18" across swimming by him, and called to me so I could see it too! No picture because the camera was safe on shore. Then Sarah built herself a sand chair and sat in it, and Sam buried Sarah in the sand too. That's Sugar Sands Resort in the background.
For dinner we got the recommendation of some locals and found the SandBar restaurant, which is a little out of the way but way less touristy than most other seafood places here. We had boiled shrimp, blackened redfish, and a smoked tuna appetizer that was unusual and tasty.
Then we went to the very touristy Pier Park area and bought a few souvenirs. The kids checked out a mini beach buggy, and pushed a giant beachball around, Sam tried his hand at a Pirate shooting game without too much luck, but did okay on some arcade games, and ogled some pirate booty.
We drove to a mini-golf place that was highly rated and played 18 holes. Sam won, beating everybody handily! Some of the golf pictures aren't great because of the bright lighting, but it is a very well laid out park, with cute props and information on famous pirates at every hole.
Now it's time to say goodnight, and tomorrow goodbye to this nice ending to our trip. It has been memorable. We are already thinking about coming here for a week next summer!
