Someone long ago named Las Vegas "The Meadows", but the name no longer fits. We were hard pressed to find any real grass anywhere, with AstroTurf substituted anywhere a business wants the appearance of a lawn.
We got up at 7pm PST and explored the hotel, and got a quick bagel breakfast before heading out to see the sights.

The first place we came to was the Fashion Show, which we dubbed the Flying Saucer building. Very artisitic.
Then came Treasure Island, where Sam found an interesting sculpture on the Pirate boat we saw later in the hotel's show.
Next was the famous Caesar's Palace (Sarah's favorite today), with its many fountains and statues, curving escalators, and stores full of mannequins.
We crossed the street to the Venitian (same company as Caesar's), and saw the gondoliers and waterfalls.
We had lunch at the famous Peppermill Restaurant, where the portions are huge, and many movies and shows have been filmed. "Casino, "Showgirls" and CSI: Las Vegas are among their credits.
We returned to the hotel, enjoying a few attractions along the way and rested up for a while before returning to the hotel's attractions, including the Circus BigTop, where we saw trapeze artists hard at work.
Then it was back to the Strip for Treasure Island's Pirate show and dinner at Gilley's, where Sam had a Texas size glass of chocolate milk, even though we are in Nevada.
Our meandering brought us by a pool table in a Camaro, gondoliers singing Italian songs, and a second show at Treasure Island (Sam loves his pirates.)
We toured a few more hotels and then got in the car to see a few more things, but Sam fell asleep, so we headed back to the Circus Circus and called it a day. More Vegas pictures tomorrow!
